Code of Conduct
In order to make this an amazing experience for your child(ren) we ask that you follow some basic guidelines and discuss these with your swimmers. With over 100 swimmers ranging in age from 4-18 on this team, it is very important that both swimmers and their families adhere to certain expectations during practice and meets.
-It is expected that all swimmers will attend practice at their allotted time. During practice, swimmers will listen to the coaches and follow instructions. They will refrain from horseplay, rude and/or disruptive behavior, and excessive talking. Swimmers are expected to use the bathroom before practice and keep bathroom breaks to a minimum.
-Swimmers who are disruptive to practice will be asked to remove themselves from the pool area. Swimmers should wear suitable swimsuits for practice and should refrain from chewing gum.
-Parents who have questions or concerns should discuss them with the coaches at the end of practice. Coaches will make themselves available to you at the end of practices. Parents are expected to stay back from the pool while practice is in session and are asked not to interfere in any way.
-It is up to the coaches to decide what swimmers will swim in the meets and what events the swimmers will compete in. They will place swimmers in events that are helpful to the team’s performance. They will make every attempt to allow swimmers to try any event they wish to swim.
-Swimmers should make attempts to attend as many swim meets as possible. Please consider leaving a few hours later or coming home a few hours earlier from a vacation so that your child may participate in as many meets as possible. Having our team well represented will greatly increase our chances of winning meets.
-During meets, swimmers and parents are expected to display exemplary sportsmanship. Swimmers should stay in the water after every race until the last swimmer in that race has finished. They should shake the hands of the swimmers in the lanes on either side of them. Swimmers should cheer for teammates.
-Also, during meets, swimmers and their parents should be aware of what and when their child is swimming and assist the child in reporting to the clerk of course at the correct time. Coaches are not responsible if swimmers miss their events.
